Donkey Fish Poker week in review

Donkeyfish Poker Week in Review for 4/20 (sorry no pot references)

Once again it didn’t take long for a Donkeyfish Poker member to cash big this week. On Sunday night, Alex "BigSlick" Keating (also known as Kadabra on Full Tilt Poker), made two nice scores. The first was on Full Tilt’s $162 buy-in $40k Guarantee tournament, where BigSlick took home over $8,000 for 4th place. But he wasn't done by a long shot. Later that night, Alex won the $215 rebuy tournament on Poker Stars for an amazing $44,000!!! Over $50,000 dollars in profit is not a bad night's work at all. This is the second big day in as many weeks for Alex, who is thriving since his triumphant return to MTT's. Alex, as you may remember, took down the first FTOPS even on FTP this past year for a whopping $147,000!!! He was then followed up by fellow DFPer 'johnnypoker', who came in second in another FTOPS event.

The World Poker Tour Championship will be wrapping up this weekend and the TV Final Table is set with Danish pro Gus Hansen leading the way with 8.5 million chips. Canadian Corry Carroll sits in second chip position with 6.6 million, with another notable pro David Chiu right at his heels with 6 million chips. The final three players consist of John Roveto ( 2.7 million), Tommy Le (1.9 million), and the shortstack, Jeff King (1.3 million). Some big names finishing just shy of the final table were as follows; Amir Vahedi (7th), Tom "durrr" Dwan (9th), Kenny Tran (10th), Michael Gracz (11th), Robert Mizrachi (13th), Andrew Black (16th), and Jeff “TheTakeover” Schulman (17th). You can get live updates on this exciting final table on CardPlayer.com.

In other exciting DonkeyFish Poker news, we have initiated a Avatar Rewards Program, in which forum members can earn free gear from our store by making final tables on Poker Stars while using a Donkeyfish Poker avatar. It's simple. All you have to is make a final table, post a screen shot, and the money is yours. Make the final table and earn yourself $10 free at the DFP store. Take down first place and that number increases to $25. Please also note that the only way I can verify that you are using our avatar is for you to post a screen shot. The only restrictions are that the tournament must be a MTT with over 400 people in it, and the buy-in must be at least $10. The $3 and $5 rebuys also count. In addition, custom Donkeyfish avatars are also available for any forum member with over 25 posts. Just check out the thread in the Congrats Corner / Tournament Reports section for details on how to get your very own personalized avatar.

The online poker community took a major blow recently when one of the more popular payment processors, ePassporte, went bye-bye. It appears as though ePassporte did not want to be put under the kind of scrutiny that Neteller was subjected to, and "voluntarily" backed out of doing any business with poker or gambling related websites. The money you have in your ePassporte account is in no danger, and you can cash it out anytime, but you will no longer be able to fund or withdraw from poker sites like Poker Stars, Full Tilt, or Cake Poker. While your ePassporte account itself is still functional, just to be safe I would probably cash out whatever you have in there in case something like the Neteller fiasco does end up happening.

In more joyous news, the much anticipated tax rebate stimulus checks will start going out as soon as Monday. Each tax-paying American will receive $600, with couples receiving $1,200 plus an addition $300 for each child. At least 92% of these funds are expected to be used for online poker. Well maybe that is just the percentage of Donkeyfish Poker members who will use it for poker. Until next week, may you always have at least two live unders against your opponents aces. FISH!!!
